Hi all.
I purchased the 6ch energy monitor to track energy from my main House Consumer unit.
One of those circuits feeds my garage. The garage CU has normal circuits for sockets and lights, plus one dedicated to a small solar inverter (1.1kw inverter).
I'm trying to calculate the "true load" of the "garage circuit" breaker from the main house CU.
Basic logic would assume that if the Athom Energy sensor for the circuit in question is the sum of all energy regardless of it being consumption or generation (which i believe it is) and it reads "X", and I have a solar generation sensor of "Y", then the garage true load is "X-Y" i.e. total energy minus total solar, leaves energy consumed by garage devices.
My problem is that the athom energy reading (X) is slightly lower than the total solar generation...where i'd expect it to be slightly higher instead.
This leaves me questioning the accuracy of the athom energy monitor in general.
I've also tried other options in HA, from suggestions from chatGPT, which all give different/no more reassuring results.
I have a bunch of other energy data too, (i have 2 solar arrays on separate inverters, house battery and ev charger) all other CT sensors/readings are where i'd expect (within 10sor kwh of each other), however the athom device is looking more like 100s of wattHours or even 1kwh out in some cases.
Is there an issue with the accuracy of this device?
Is there anything i can do to try and calibrate it better?
If i can't trust the data it's basically not fit for purpose...
Thanks in advance.
