WLED High Power Addressable LED Strip Controller

I got this controller, but I plugged it in and connected it to my DC5V SK6812 RGBW and it lit the entire strip at once, then made a "clicking" sound and turned off the whole strip. It simply repeats this. Also I can't connect to the unit via my smart phone! What is wrong? I am using the right strip, correct? So I bought this unit and have had no success with it.
