I was able to set up my LS5P fine. Added to homekit and it was working fine. It stopped responding earlier today. i.e. still was in homekit but locked in the on position and wold not respond to any commands. I reset the device, added it back to homekit and same situation? It is locked in on position will not accept change of color or off command.

No. However, I figured out the solution to my own problem. The issue was that in a prior post I was given inaccurate information on how to connect to a tunable COB strip. I was advised to connect as follows:
VCC----->Red
R---------->Yellow
G---------->White
Following these instructions causes the controller to lock in the on position and not accept commands.
I experimented with several combinations and the correct wiring for a tunable white COB strip is:
VCC----->Red
R---------->White
W---------->Yellow
